Musical Director: Mark Spiteri Lucas Artistic Director: Leontine Story Created by: Mark Spiteri Lucas & Leontine
For the 2005 Christmas Season, Spiteri Lucas Entertainment, prepared a special Christmas spectacular in a live, interactive and entertaining show for all the family. A magical letter posted to Santa took the audience on a journey of magic and make believe, where typical Christmas characters such as Frosty the Snowman, kind-hearted Santa Claus and Scrooge the miser, created a fantasy world in a show packed with songs, carols, bundles of fun and of course: Christmas spirit!
Performed in colourful costumes, the show presented a varied repertoire of sing along Christmas tunes such as “Frosty the Snowman” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” to evergreen holiday hits such as “White Christmas” and “The Christmas Song” (Chestnuts roasting on an open fire). There was also space for classical musical hits such as “Somewhere over the Rainbow” and “My Favourite Things” as well as a touch from Disney’s fantasy world, along with local traditional Christmas tunes.
The cast included Debbie Scerri, Ivan Spiteri Lucas, actor and puppeteer, Toni Busuttil, Leontine and versatile English singer/actress Julie James, together with Neville Refalo, Maria Mallia and Christabelle Borg amongst others. All these artists were accompanied by a band under the direction of Mark Spiteri Lucas (piano), Roderick Eddleston (drums) and Joe M. Vella (bass).
Part of the profits from this show were donated to Id-Dar tal-Providenza.
